Er komponierte neben katholischer Kirchenmusik auch Werke für den griechisch-orthodoxen und jüdischen Gottesdienst. Er war der Musiklehrer von König Maximilian II. Des Weiteren studierte der englische Komponist Robert Lucas Pearsall 1832 bei ihm Alte Musik und Notenkunde.
