Prima edizione
Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. Maud Tousey (illustratore). 1st Edition. First Edition (Published, October, 1911). Part of 'The Fairmount Girls Series'. How rare is this book? Singularly rare, as I could not find one other for sale anywhere on the Internet. Happily, it has held up quite well, despite being published in 1911. You can see the covers in the first few photographs. They have very little soiling. There is some rubbing/fading on the spine, not too bad. Otherwise, the covers have remarkably little wear. For example, there isn't any rub-through at the corners or on the bottom, middle or rear edges. That despite its age and genre. And the book is very square (no slant) and solidly bound despite being 371 pages long. There is a small bookplate on the front inside cover, but no one has written their name or anything else on it. At the bottom of the first front end paper there is a tiny book seller label (Chas. E. Lauriat, Boston). There aren't any other attachments in the book. It is NOT ex-library. And there aren't any markings. The pages are in very nice condition. All four of the full-page illustrations listed at the front of the book, including the frontispiece which is protected by a tissue guard, are present and accounted for. All four and the tissue guard are in very good condition. I turned over every page in the book because there is a 1 1/2 inch tear off the bottom edge of page 1 and a very tiny one off the bottom edge of page 3. But fortunately these turned out to be the exceptions. I didn't see any other tears. I saw a total of two turned down corner creases. And toward the end of the book I found three corners that were a little scrunched, just at the tip and without tears. The vast majority of pages were exceptionally clean. There were two or three with fingerprints off the middle edge and there are maybe a dozen with small, inconspicuous stains away from the print. All in all, very clean pages. Finally, no one wrote their name or anything else anywhere in this book.
