There initially were (12) high quality chromolithograph plates, including the frontispiece, however, eight of the plates have been removed from the book, leaving only the following plates; The Champs Elysees, Holland, Pompeii, and Central Park at Night. All remaining plates are beautiful. This is the first and only edition of this extremely scarce book. Extremely uncommon, as just (8) copies are listed on OCLC, and all are in North America. No copies traced at auction. The (12) images were originally published by the Frederick A. Stokes Company in their Cycling World Calendar, representing cyclists of different nationalities. The plates are accompanied by a selection of prose and poetry inspired by the cycling craze. A very attractive copy!
