A collection of 21 photographs of the 1st Battalion of the 5th Fusiliers (Royal Northumberland Fusiliers). Includes group photos of officers and the various Companies including the Machine Gun Section. A very rare title. WorldCat lists only one copy, at the British Library. Overall condition is Good. Size: 10.75 x 8.75 inches (27.5 x 22 cm).

Original softcover binding, 50 leaves of sepia photographs, front cover and first page loose, ink inscription "Bikaner in 1930" on the front free endpaper, maybe the title page is missing, the plates all in very good condition. From the library of naturalist and hunter Malcolm Lyell (1922-2011), who for several decades was managing director and owner of gunmaker Holland and Holland. With a presentation inscription from his Highness Maharajah Singh of Bikaner to Mr and Mrs Lyell on the front free endpaper, dated 1957, also a greeting card signed by the Maharajah loosely inserted. Also loosely inserted is colour headed note paper from the palaces of Lallgarh and Gajner in envelopes, all with the arms in colour. Very rare, we find only a digital version in a public library.
