Neuware - The Battle Axe for Emotional Healing is written for the emotionally wounded men and women who have been through life's tough issues, confused on who they are in Christ and struggling with un-forgiveness. My poems are like a battle axe tool which God uses as purifying fire to my spirit to set me free from bondage. These poetic words are like a two edge sword. Hebrews 4:12 says, 'For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.' It was prophesied to me that God was making me His battle axe. The word battle axe stuck out so much I had to look this word up in scripture. I was lead to Jeremiah 51:20-23 that says, 'Thou art my battle axe and weapons of war: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms; And with thee will I break in pieces the horse and his rider; and with thee will I break in pieces the chariot and his rider; With thee also will I break in pieces man and woman; and with thee will I break in pieces old and young; and with thee will I break in pieces the young man and the maid; I will also break in pieces with thee the shepherd and his flock; and with thee will I break in pieces the husbandman and his yoke of oxen; and with thee will I break in pieces captains and rulers.' I didn't realize the gift of writing poetry was one of the many weapons God was using, through me, to tear down the enemy camp. Through this revelation came the title of this book: The Battle Axe for Emotionally Healing. We are Gods warriors, His divine battle axes who are called to be swift, sharp, strong, and powerful. I believe God wants us to quit looking at our insignificance and inabilities and to stop making excuses for them! It is time to be the battle axe that God ordained us to be. Look through the eyes of victory, the eyes of Jesus and realize it's time for war!

"Juliana Horatia Ewing was a popular Victorian children's author, admired by such writers as Hans Christian Andersen, Lewis Carroll and Rudyard Kipling and widely read by children and adults alike until well into [the twentieth] century. She was a sharp observer of human strengths and foibles and her stories are generally devoid of the sentimentality so often associated with Victorian literature. This book with eight colour and twenty black and white illustrations vividly demonstrates the range and quality of Mrs. Ewing's artistic gifts. The accompanying text recounts her life before and after her two and a half year stay in Fredericton but deals primarily with her experiences in New Brunswick. Her letters and pictures demonstrate an intelligent understanding of the daily concerns of the people she met and offer a rare glimpse of everyday life in Canada over a hundred years ago." - dust jacket. 92 pages. Index. Lovely colour plates. Map endpapers. Light wear to clean and unmarked book. Light wear to attractive dust jacket now preserved in glossy new archival-grade Brodart. A nice copy of this beautifully presented work.; Color Illustrations; 8vo.
