Soft cover. Condizione: Good. Old Vintage Library editions still in good reading condition. Volume 2 has a small puncture mark on the back cover, which shows also on the last few pages. No text is obscured. The interior pages are clean and unmarked, but moderately age tanned. Volume 1 covers the period 1790-1890; Volume 2 covers 1890-1960.

Mass Market Paperback. Condizione: Good. Previous owner inscription in pencil on the first white page. Was gently read, but has pencil underlining and notes from the owner who was a professor of literature. Exterior has a little rubbing and very faint spotting to the top edge. Binding is tight and it presents well. Part of the Vintage Russian Library, number V-732.
