This recounts combat missions during WWII. The author joined the Aviation Cadet program after the attack on Pearl Harbor. He completed pilot training in early 1943 and was a 21 year-old newly minted scond lieutenant assigned to learn how to fly and operate the P-40 weapons system in a combat environment. In April of that year he joing the 57th Fighter Group and served in that distinquished unit until May, 1945.
