First issue of this fanzine by Lisa Fancher, perhaps best known for founding Frontier Records in 1980, which promoted many influential punk and hardcore bands from the LA area, including… the Circle Jerks, Suicidal Tendencies, Adolescents and many others. While originally working for mainstream rock journals, she grew disillusioned with corporate control over coverage of bands, and eventually worked on or created fanzines such as this. Pieces on The Dickies, the Rich Kids and others. GOOD condition. Moderate browning along the extremities, with rusting at the staples. Top staple almost falling out. Light wrinkling. Some soiling and staining along the lower front cover, with a small tear at lower center edge.

Aggiungi al carrelloEarly Los Angeles fanzine with a cover story on the Sex Pistols, which addresses their controversial December 1, 1976 appearance on BBC TV and rumors of the band signing to an American label. This issue also includes an interview with Tomata du Plenty and Tommy Gear of the Screamers, a review of David Bowie's Low (1977), a repor…t on the Ramones show with Blondie at the Whisky a Go Go on February 19, 1977, and a piece on the "acute lack of punk &/or pop music" in the San Gabriel Valley. Notably, Street Life features original photography by Jenny Stern or Jenny Lens, as she is better known. Standard A4 format (8 1/2 x 11"): [16] p. including the wrappers. Crudely assembled, it appears additional pages were anticipated; per the table of contents, this issue is complete. Photomechanically reproduced and bound with two staples. The rear panel features the original subscriber's handwritten address and a post office stamp. Some moderate toning to the wrappers. Scarce, OCLC locates only one holding of this issue, at Bowling Green.

Aggiungi al carrelloRock fanzine featuring a cover story on Van Halen, which hailed from Pasadena, only about 7 miles from Temple City. Also includes pieces on Ronnie Montrose, Shoes, and the Rubber City Rebels, as well as a review on Suicide's self-titled debut album and a report on Lou Reed's show at the Roxy in Hollywood on March 27, 1978. Among… the contributing writers is Lisa Fancher, founder of Frontier Records, the independent label which found success releasing early records by Circle Jerks, Suicidal Tendencies, Redd Kross, Christian Death, and others. A4 size (8 1/2" x 11"), oblong format: [9] p. with black-and-white illustrations throughout. Photomechanically reproduced on the rectos only and bound with two staples.
