Soft cover. Condizione: Very Good. FDR as Karl Marx! Heffron, F.C. It HAS Happened Here. A Statement of Facts Unknown in U.S. Not Printed in Newspapers and Magazines. The Communists' Own Plans for Making Over America. San Clemente, California, printed for the author, 1939. 8"x 5", 8pp. Original wrappers. VG copy. Provenance: Library of Congress, with their 10mm "LC" perforated stamp and a rubber stamp on the front page. NO copies located in WorldCat. Mr. Heffron provides fictional proof to make his case for FDR and the New Deal running the country into a Communist state. I've heard worse in current politics similar charges with similar sorts of proof of non-existent standards. Interesting that this pamphlet was issued/printed in what would be RMN's town, what with Nixon being a Roy Cohn supporter and inelegant Commie-hunter. [++] The name of this pamphlet bends the title a bit of a more-workable and reasoned effort Sinclair Lewis' "It Can't Happen Here", his 1935 dystopian novel presenting the case for Hitleresque activities in the U.S. [++] Sorry, but I've been unable to find out anything useful about Mr. Hefron.…

(2) The Highway of Tomorrow made possible by the Ideal of Today. 5th edition of preceding. 61,(3)pp. Matching design, though cover here is in glorious black and white. (3) Proposed Transcontinental Super Highways in the United States. Indiana, 1936. 228pp. 13pp. 2-page centerfold diagram. Provenance: Library of Congress. This seems an earlier edition of 1+2. (4) Superhighway News, Six Superhighways Coast to Coast, Border to Border. Wooster, Ohio, 1945. Volume 12. 185mm. 28pp, folding plate with diagram and plan. Provenance: all are from the Library of Congress. CONDITIONS: all are stamped with the LC surplus rubberstamp on rear cover (#2 on front cover), and have a few penciled markings and notes on the front covers. That said all are very fresh and clean. VG condition. [++] A Dream, a Reality" and/or "Coast to Coast Transcontinental Super Highway isn't actually the title of this work even though they are on the cover; it is mostly a caption for an interior image though it somehow percolated topside.  The real title is The Highway of Tomorrow made Possible by the Ideal of Today, which gets to the subject of the work even though it is slightly unwieldy. It is difficult to say who wrote this though Mr. T.E. Steiner ("Sponsor", of Wooster, Ohio) and which somehow found its way to a fourth edition in its two years of existence, published and promoted in undoubtedly small numbers by the "Transcontinental Stream-Lined Super Highway of the United States of America" in 1938. [++] This is all about super-highways, and mainly replacing the old roads with four new roads that are as straight as straight could be. A map of the proposals features one line of the highway is straight from San Francisco to Boston; another from Laredo, Texas (!) direct to International Falls, Minnesota (!);  a third not-straight shot from Boston-Allentown-near-Valdosta Ga-Miami; and another from near-Valdosta to Cleveland. A schematic of this map though drops near-Valdosta for Jacksonville, and has the Boston-Miami route further east to include NYC and D.C., which are omitted from the map.…
