He went on to be a big proponent of four -man fast-pitch softball. His wife made the team a three man, one woman combination beginning in 1998. These 192 pagesdocument his career over the years 1946 to 2000. Off the field his name is associated with major stars from Joe Louis to Gordie Howe,and from Ed Sullivan to Elvis Presley. His baseball connections include Charles Finley, Mickey Mantle, Pete Rose, Joe Morgan, and Max Patkin. He and his team have played everywhere between Castlegar British Columbia, and Tapei Taiwan. No names, marks, creases, nor tears. D.J. has a minor scratch at back and pp. 147 to 154 have a curious fold or wrinkle (publisher?). Excellent sports biography !! Quote (p. 60) : " The New Orleans Jax team was very good. What made the team so good was the three Savona sisters. They were all fairly large and looked alike.
