Some foxing as usual. Two pages skillfully repaired without losing of text. In good condition. Bound in full contemporary vellum with in…ked title on spine. Fenestella, roman historian, died in 49 BC, was used as a pseudonym by Andrea Dominico Fiocchi (-1452), Florentine jurist and secretary of Pope Eugène IV, for this treatise. First published in Milan under the title: De Romanis potestatibus, sacerdotiis et magistratibus (1477). It was reprinted many times and was at first attributed to Fenestella. Gilles Witt was the first in his 1561-Antwerp edition to link it to the real author. Adams mentions a 1550 edition (Paris) and a 1568 edition (Lyon). Adams F.604 & F.605); NBG 17: 342 & 722.
