Prima edizione
Hardcover. Condizione: Very good. Bidwell (photograher) (illustratore). Limited edition (1 of 200 copies). 109p, ca. 100 large photos. No jacket, as issued. Reproduces turn-of-the-20th-century photos from August Belmont II's personal photograph album of Long Island society enjoying coaching, hunting, polo, the races, and balancing picnic lunches on their laps. Some of them were made by one Bidwell, who specialized in equestrian subjects. Most of the activities, people, and locations are not identified, with a few exceptions, such as Elliot Roosevelt dancing, and Mrs. August Belmont II impeccably turned out aside. Although the quality of the images is uneven due to the condition of the originals, they are valuable resources for details of accoutrements and turn out. With an informative introduction by Ferrell.
