These books are almost impossible to date. A print code D.402-284 may mean something to someone. There are several editions of this title with different covers and despite having been presented to someone in 1948 it has a definite pre-war look about it . 19.5cm x 25cm portrait format hardback with colour illustrated boards and linen spine. 172pp and thankfully lacking the juvenile scribbles and drawings which usually proliferate these book. Colour frontispiece is present. Front flyleaf is torn at the spine but no paper loss. A start has been made to colour the drawing on page 13 but not completed. No other markings in the book.
