No names, tears or soil in the glossy 100 pp text. A terrific biographical chronology of one of our favorite illustrators. Gifted and spontaneous, Norman Thelwell has been entertaining the masses since 1938, when at age fifteen, he sold his first drawing of fifteen chickens. This book is essential for any Thelwell lover. It includes his 'serious' landscapes as well which are absolutely stunning along with examples from all of his beloved books including all of his "Thelwell Ponies". Interestingly, the inside cover and front end paper are combined to showcase a full color spread of Becher's Brook, the largest hedge jump in the Grand National, and today happens to be April 6th, Grand National Day at Aintree, UK. Imagine that!.
