Harvey Firestone had pioneer…ed by 1926 the concept of one-stop service stations under the name, Firestone Tire & Service Centers, and by the 1930's the company continued to expand through the Great Depression, as well as encourage uniform cleanliness, and service to build businesses. The photo series show neatly attired Firestone attendants polishing the windshields, checking the tires, checking the radiator, headlights, as well as encouraging them by checking the oil to also check the condition of the engine. These steps allowed the attendant to encourage stops at the service department to fix problems with fan belts, radiators, hoses, lubrication, oil changes, and more. No copies in Worldcat.
