French print mounted on a folder with sheet music inside is a pinup print by Leo Fontan, "Brise d'automne, La derniere rose s'effeuille," which translates to Autumn Breeze, The Last Rose Sheds its Petals. The print depicts a naked woman with a rose around her midsection, with a breeze. There is soiling and wear. Inside is sheet music for "Armande" by Eugene Gavel and Jean Rodor, from 1923. A terrific piece of pinup art from a different era. Print measures 9.5x12.5. This is a print from the French magazine Le Sourire de France. All orders packed with care, most dust jackets protected by Brodart sleeve, independent bookseller since 2011.

Scarce and attractive book from the time when Paris was the fleshpot of Europe and when the French did things that other nations had never even heard of, let alone attempted. This book takes a wry look at the places where one, or rather two, can get up to sexual mischief, not just in Paris, but around the country and at various times in history. Beautifully ilustrated with three-color plates and with delightfully illustrated and coloured paper cover. Paperback original, undated but 1913. Vague signs of wear but generally very well preserved.

Magnifique Gouache originale sur toile cartonnée, intitulée au verso " Mon romancier.", monogrammée " L.F " en bas à droite. Format 22,5 x 27,5 cm. Superbe état, malgré le bord aguche un peu poussièreux. Au verso on trouve le titre et des mentions manuscrites de l'artiste. Cette illustration était certainement destinée à illustrer une nouvelle ou roman publié par les éditions Pierre Lafitte. A noter que cet artiste réputé et très coté, né en 1884 à Donchery (Ardennes), et mort le 26 juin 1965 à Annecy, qui fut peintre, illustrateur, décorateur, et un des plus grand graphiste Art Déco, est surtout réputé pour avoir illustré la première de couverture des livres de la série Arsène Lupin. Il est donc le créateur visuel du Gentleman-Cambrioleur.
