Prima edizione Copia autografata
First edition of this beautiful pictorial history of the official residence and workplace of the president of the United States. Octavo, original cloth, patterned endpapers, illustrated with numerous full page color photographs. Presentation copy, inscribed by the President Johnson, "To Edward Dahut-with appreciation Lyndon B. Johnson." The recipient, Edward Dahut was the CEO of Bronzini Ltd., a prestigious menâs fashion house. Because President Johnson was a tall man, and wore Bronzini ties, the White House requested new ties cut to order. Dahut would send books of color swatches of designs for the line, normally given to Bronzini salesmen across the country to the White House for each new season, and the President made his selection of style, color and the number of ties he wanted. The ties selected were then manufactured especially for Lyndon Johnson and sent to the White House for the president to wear. Fine in a very good dust jacket. Accompanied by an original Bronzini tie. Lyndon Baines Johnson, often referred to by his initials LBJ, served as the 36th President of the United States from 1963 to 1969, assuming the office after serving as the 37th Vice President of the United States under President John F. Kennedy from 1961 to 1963. A Democrat from Texas, Johnson also served as a U.S. representative, U.S. senator and the Senate's majority leader. He holds the distinction of being one of the few presidents who served in all elected offices at the federal level.
