In his foreword, Stanley Kunitz describes Stanton as writing out a 'sense of burning reality' but her finished poems have 'deceptively cool surfaces.' Ends with a short section of poems 'from the journal of Eliza Lynch' (mistress of Francisco Solano Lopez, dictator of Paraguay between 1862-1870) Near fine in stiff blue wrappers.

The book is in very good condition, some shelf wear and rubbing to the lighter colours of the covers. There is a sticker removal marker on the front cover, but otherwise great copy of this book.
