The trimmed front cover of the dust jacket is laid in at front. Toledano binding type 4 and Bernhard endpapers suggest a 1925 printing, but no statement of edition is present. The book was first published by Modern Library in 1925. Snugly bound and vey neat with just superficial crimping to cloth at spine ends and an expected mild wrinkle to the cloth over spine. Beebe is remembered as one of the preminent American naturalists and for his extensive work in exploring and documenting the wild life of the world through jungle and under sea.
