Todd, who was associated with the Chautauqua movement, had a hand in some of the illustrations, and there is a hint of Arts and Crafts in many of the plates. The top board has been treated with a little black shoe polish to hide some stubborn spots.There are a few small stains on the illustrated pastedown on the front board.
