The gallery exhibit was issued by Robert S. Menschel, Light Days Media Center in Syracuse, NY. It's an excellent use of Modern Photography, using color photographs of teenage girls going about their lives through the years. Exhibition Announcement & Catalog, April - July 2008. From the Essay by Andy Grundberg : " It is rare in contemporary photography to encounter a series of pictures this beautiful, compelling, innocent, and intriguing. That they should come from someone who has spent much of her career devoting herself to promoting the talents of others makes them even more special. I feel as if Blake Fitch, whom I first met when she was the director of the Griffin Museum of Photography in Winchester, MA, has snuck up behind us and delivered a classic Zen slap." Soft cover. Condizione: Very Good. Don Gregorio Antón (illustratore). This is "Contact Sheet No.145: Ollin Mecatl: The Measure of Movements" by Don Gregorio Antón. The book was published by Robert S. Menschel Light Days Media Center as a Modern Photography Gallery Exhibition, Running from January 14 to March 20, 2007. The photographs act as Dream Retablos that partake partly of Nightmare Images, and partly of Mystical Photographs filled with Religious symbolism. From the Introduction by Fran Frieser : "Don Gregorio Antón's work has been described as 'radiating compassion', at once tender and forceful, hushed and thunderous ? and as an 'opportunity to see the richness and undeniable power of hope.' Sometimes the work is reminiscent of distant ancestral memories, while at other time his images remind of dreams experienced with a clarity that can only be felt in the moment of waking. " To enter the mystical world of Antón's retablos it is necessary to set aside the assumptions that guide us through our daily lives. We have to surrender to his evocative images that are unfamiliar to our mind, yet resonate within our souls. Antón creates a world full of mystery, where life and death are not binary opposites and where emotions are assets as powerful ass a vault of money might be in our normal existence. In Anton's world, pain and fear coexist with bliss and euphoria, neither able to survive without at least a little of the other'" SERIES : Contact Sheet ( No. 145) TITLE : Ollin Mecatl: The Measure of Movements AUTHOR / PHOTOGRAPHS / TEXT EXCERPT : Don Gregorio Antón GALLERY EXHIBITION DATE : January 14 - March 20, 2008 INTRODUCTION : Fran Frieser ( Director, Light days) IMPRINT : Robert B.
