Franc Kav ic/Francesco Caucig lived and worked at the time when the present state borders were not yet drawn, but today three countries lay claim to him. The National Gallery of Slovenia continuously tends to sustain the splendid collection of his works - paintings, drawings, and prints - so in the recent years the painter has been a regular guest our central exhibition hall. Not by pure chance: the quantity and quality of Caucig's works housed in our Gallery, and the scholarly expertise provided by Dr. Ksenija Rozman are an inexhaustable source.
