Else, very clean, sewn binding tight & square, pages white with just a whisper of tanning to edges, unmarked save for former owner's information in neat pen to the"This book belongs to" box inside front cover. Boards show light rubbing, corner wear, and small abrasions, but the binding remains sound and the interior completely unmarked. No dust jacket, as issued in this Random House pictorial board format. Copyright page lists the original Baum/Denslow copyrights (1900, 1903) and later renewals (1928, 1931), followed by text and illustration copyrights dated 1950 with no subsequent printings indicated, consistent with the true first edition/first printing of the Chaffee/Loeb adaptation.
