A complete history of his life saga can be found wikipedia. Book is an ex-library copy with beat up endpapers and damage due to glued bookcover and stickers. The bookcover however, did its job and the front cover and binding are in good shape. The back cover has heavy corner damage. The book is heavily foxed and page 49 the library stamped "First Parish Sunday School. East Bridgewater." John Carter was world reknown as evidenced by his art (also in this book) being shown at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. The book also has a previous dealer price penciled on the first cover page of $95.00!
