The detailed lithograph chart of San Francisco Bay presents a comprehensive overview of the region from Half Moon Bay north through the Golden Gate to Vallejo and Martinez. It carefully identifies the primary ship channel, major anchorages, prominent coastal points, and the extensive maritime infrastructure that was essential to late-nineteenth-century Pacific Coast commerce. The geographic detail of the chart firmly emphasizes the maritime approaches and internal navigational routes of the Bay Area.
