Hardcover. Condizione: Fair. Softcover. Covers bound in aged suede that was once green, with a plate affixed to the front cover that is detailed with gold stamping of the title and of two figures. The suede cover has aged to a light brown, the center of the back cover retains the original green. Covers are smudged and stained. Corners are frayed and worn. Fore-edge gilt. Front gutter cracked through; binding feels a bit loose, but holding steady. A message from a previous owner gifting this book to a family in 1910 on the first few empty pages, this page in particular has come loose from the binding. Page opposite the title page is a black-and-white plate of "The Pennsylvania Railroad Terminal, New York City, the New Gateway to All Long Island". No date on title page. Copyright page dated 1909. 271 pages. 610 Illustrations. Interiors are clean and unmarked. Multiple black-and-white photos on every page picturing scenes of Long Island. Overall, a fair and readable copy.

Board corners and spine ends and edges are frayed. Lower front hinge is bumped. Soil and faint cup marks to boards. Textured paste downs and first and last free endpapers show light soil. Second and third endpapers are noticeably soiled and foxed, with previous owners stamp on endpaper opposite copyright page. Some of the text pages are a bit rough. Most of the text/photo pages are completely intact, however some pages are chipped, worn and creased at edges, some tape repairs. Occasional finger soil and foxing. Page 29-30 has three inch triangular piece missing. The photos on those two pages have the surrounding trees and sky missing, but the building itself is intact. Absolutely fascinating vintage views of Long Island in the early1900s.
