Aggiungi al carrelloHardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Good. 1st Edition. Stated First Printing. First American Edition. Quite rare. You can see the covers of the book in the photos. They are very clean. The only conspicuous wear is crinkling at the spine ends. The cover edges and corners are in excellent condition, no rubbing. The page edges look very good. The book is very solidly bound from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. The front and rear inside covers and their end papers form the same map of The Battle Of Verdun. They are all perfectly clean and free of wear. This appears to be the case with all of the pages in the book. I have scrolled through them a number of times without finding any instances of soiling. There isn't any conspicuous creasing, no placeholder creases. There are no markings. No attachments of any kind. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere the book. There are 12 pages of illustrations. They are all in excellent condition. You can see the dust jacket in the first few photos. I have always had it in a fitted protective cover. There is a little sliver of loss around the top corner of the front. There are small spots of scuffing at the spine ends. There is a that vertical line of scuffing on the front just adjacent to the spine. There is a darkish line off the bottom edge of the rear cover, as well as a small, thin tear. The flaps are in very good shape. I don't see any soiling. There is a thin strip of toning of the bottom edge of the rear flap. There is a small, thin crease just off the top edge of the front flap. The jacket is NOT price-clipped, not clipped at all. From the dust jacket: 'In the author's graphic narrative, the reader learns what it meant to hug the bottom of a blasted trench under the rain of shells from two thousand heavy guns. The special merit of the book lies in this, that the author succeeds, in spite of the enormity of the battle, in presenting its human dimensions. The result is a book, among those select few, of which it can be said 'this is the way it was.' '.…
