Dorso decorato con motivi fitomorfi impressi in oro, corredato da due tasselli riportanti autore e titolo dell'opera, oltre a luogo e anno di stampa, anch'essi impressi in oro. Discreto stato di conservazione: presenti tracce di foxing e lievi imbrunimenti in alcune carte. Frontespizio con marca tipografica calcografica di Pio Panfili recante il motto: "Artibus ingenuis quasia est gloria multis, Vite brevitatem posteritats memoria consolantur".Le illustrazioni interne sono opera di Pio Panfili, Girolamo Contoli, Giuseppe Rosaspina e G. Rosi. L'esemplare è una prestigiosa edizione settecentesca dei principali testi teorici rinascimentali sulla pittura, che riunisce il Trattato della pittura di Leonardo da Vinci, i tre libri della Pittura e il Trattato della statua di Leon Battista Alberti. Du Fresne fu il curatore della prima edizione a stampa del trattato leonardesco, pubblicata a Parigi nel 1651, nella quale incluse anche una biografia dell'artista.
