Jahrhunderts von Hans Sachs in der Göttinger Universitätsbibliothek und in der Herzog August Bibliothek in Wolfenbüttel. Dabei dominieren die reformatorischen und didak- tischen Schriften, die schon zu Lebzeiten des Autors in vielen Auflagen verbreitet wurden. Neben diesen Originalausgaben, darunter zahlreichen Erstdrucken, werden Faksimiles von Einblattdrucken aus der Geisberg-Sammlung und neun zeitgenössische Graphiken ge- zeigt, die die Kunstsammlung der Universität dankenswerterweise beisteuerte. Die Titel der einzelnen Schriften wurden genau aufgenomment um eine mögliche weitere Bearbeitung zu erleichtern; die Inhaltsangaben können einen Einblick in die vielfältigen Stoffe und Themen vermitteln, die Hans Sachs in seinen Stücken heranzog. Von einem ursprünglichen Konzept "Hans Sachs und seine Zeit" mußte nach kurzer Einarbeitung aus zeitlichen und auch rät liehen Gründen Abstand genommen werden.
