Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book delves into the complexities of atmospheric refraction, offering various methods to calculate the bending of radio waves as they propagate through the troposphere. The author explores historical approaches such as the four-thirds earth model and Schulkin's method, providing a comprehensive analysis of their strengths and limitations. The book places particular emphasis on the exponential model, which the author presents as an accurate and practical solution for calculating bending in most atmospheric conditions. Detailed tables and sample calculations illustrate the application of this model, making it accessible to readers seeking precise and reliable results. The author also introduces the departures-from-normal method, which offers insights into the deviations of actual ray bending from the exponential model. By studying these deviations, the reader gains a deeper understanding of air mass refraction effects. This book will prove invaluable to radar engineers, communications specialists, and anyone involved in the practical applications of radio wave propagation. Its thorough exploration of different refraction calculation methods, combined with its emphasis on accuracy and practicality, makes it an essential resource for professionals in the field. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
