In the present research, the antimicrobial activity of three different Honey samples viz., Kombu Honey, Malan Honey and Commercial Honey were evaluated against pathogenic bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus, Micrococcus luteus, Bacillus cereus, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Salmonella typhi, Shigella flexneri, Proteus mirabilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Acetobacter baumani). The Natural and Commercial honey samples selected for the present study was collected from Chetheri Malai, Harur, Tamil Nadu, India. The Kombu honey, Malan honey and Commercial honey showed maximum zone of inhibition against Staphylococcus aureus. In conclusion, Kombu honey exhibited more antimicrobial activity against bacterial pathogens when compared to the Malan honey and Commercial honey. 72 pp. Englisch.

Dans la présente recherche, l'activité antimicrobienne de trois échantillons de miel différents, à savoir le miel de Kombu, le miel de Malan et le miel commercial, a été évaluée contre des bactéries pathogènes (Staphylococcus aureus, Micrococcus luteus, Bacillus cereus, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Salmonella typhi, Shigella flexneri, Proteus mirabilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa et Acetobacter baumani). Les échantillons de miel naturel et commercial sélectionnés pour la présente étude ont été collectés à Chetheri Malai, Harur, Tamil Nadu, Inde. Le miel de Kombu, le miel de Malan et le miel commercial ont montré une zone d'inhibition maximale contre Staphylococcus aureus. En conclusion, le miel de Kombu a montré une plus grande activité antimicrobienne contre les pathogènes bactériens par rapport au miel de Malan et au miel commercial. 68 pp. Französisch.

O mel é uma substância doc…e produzida como fonte de alimento principalmente a partir do néctar e das secreções das plantas pelas abelhas melíferas. Na presente investigação, a atividade antimicrobiana de três amostras diferentes de mel, nomeadamente o mel de Kombu, o mel de Malan e o mel comercial, foi avaliada contra bactérias patogénicas (Staphylococcus aureus, Micrococcus luteus, Bacillus cereus, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Salmonella typhi, Shigella flexneri, Proteus mirabilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa e Acetobacter baumani). As amostras de mel natural e comercial seleccionadas para o presente estudo foram recolhidas em Chetheri Malai, Harur, Tamil Nadu, Índia. O mel de Kombu, o mel de Malan e o mel comercial apresentaram uma zona de inibição máxima contra Staphylococcus aureus.
