Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book outlines the parliamentary systems of France from the beginnings of the Third Republic to 1975 when various constitutional laws established the framework that is still in place today. The author provides a historical context for each era, the relevant constitutional provisions, and commentary on the evolution of each legislative body. The book details the powers of the President of the Republic, the composition and functions of the Senate and the National Assembly, and the complex electoral systems used to select members of each. The author also examines how the institutions have functioned in practice, the challenges they have faced, and the reforms that have been implemented over time. The book is essential reading for scholars of comparative politics, French politics, and anyone interested in the history of parliamentary democracy. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
