Soft cover. Condizione: Very Good. Original buff envelope titled to the front 24x30cm, containing a colour map 119x94cm, and accompanying booklet in self wraps 21x27cm, 33pp including b/w maps. Map very good, neatly folded with closed fold tear and some neat annotations. Booklet near fine except for some neat pencilled annotations. Envelope good, lightly creased and worn. This map covers the coasts of East Africa, Arabia, Iran, Pakistan, India, Burma, Indonesia and Australia, with detailed colour coded explanation. It was prepared as a contribution to the International Indian Ocean Expedition, and the Second UN Economic Commission for Asia and the Far East Symposium on the Development of Petroleum Resources of Asia and the Far East. The International Indian Ocean Expedition (1959-65) involved 14 countries, sponsored by the Scientific Committee on Oceanographic Research, and later by the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO.
