First chapter covers up to 1850; Subsequent chapters deal with a decade each up to the 1950s; Ends with a chapter covering 1960 onwards. Clean red cloth-covered boards with bright gilt titling to spine. Head and tail of spine lightly bumped/turned-in but No damage. In the original publisher's pictorial dustjacket. The d/j is NOT clipped, but there is some edge crumpling/creasing to the top edges of the d/j, and the spine of the d/j has some fading to the base colour of the spine (quite usual as the colour was a cherry-red which fades easily to 'pink') but all lettering, etc, is very clear. ALL Hinges sound. A few slight marks to the page fore-edges but overall the book is tight and very sound without marks. Internally a former owner's name and location to the top of the front free endpaper. Also SIGNED " With best wishes." and dated "Christmas 1984" by the AUTHOR to the title page. Red boards with bright gilt titling to the spine. Very good clean boards with just a slight fade to the top/bottom edges. In the original publisher's pictorial dust-jacket. The dust-jacket has a couple of very small nicks to the top edges - now closed and neatly repaired to the reverse of the d/j with clear archive tape. The d/j is now in a new protective clear - removable - bookfilm plastic cover and looks Fine. This is Hughes' classic record of the wonderful Scarlets - but with a difference. This book is SIGNED on the front free endpaper, not only by the compiler Gareth Hughes himself, but also by George Thomas (Viscount Tonypandy) and what I assume are 12 former and current Scarlets. I can't decipher all the signatures but they include Phil Bennett, Cliff Morgan, Derek Quinnell, Selwyn Williams, Gareth Thomas, Roger Powell, Gareth Edwards, and many more.14 signatures in all.
