Book was acquired directly from the estate of University of Alabama Professor Emeritus of Humanities and Religious Studies William G. Doty (1939-2017), a renowned scholar, lecturer, and editor best known for his monograph "Mythography: The Study of Myths and Rituals" (first published 1986 by University of Alabama Press with other printings/editions through 2014) and for his editorship of "Mythosphere: A Journal for Image, Myth, and Symbol." Doty was a prolific author writing some twenty books and over seventy essays not only regarding his primary fields of myth and mythology but delving into other disciplines including anthropology, art criticism, classics, and psychology.
