Designed by Jack Stauffacher of the Greenwood Press, San Francisco, Typesetting by Francesca Stauffacher. With typed note on 'Greenwood Press Compliments' card by Jack Stauffacher to Katherine Way, whose husband, David Way had passed away the year before. Signed: "all my best Jack" Also laid in by Stauffacher in an envelope with the text: "Printing and the Renaissance" in red: a folded card with Garnett's "DECALOGUE FOR CRAFTSMEN", printed in an edition of 150 (on the Gietz in 1994, see below6), celebrating the publication of the book. Laid into the card are a photo of P. Garnett and the first group of students at the Laboratory Press 1924. And a print from the original Laboratory Press line engraving of a thank you letter to the Lanston Monotype Machine company for donating of the Poliphilus and blado type fonts. In addition, a folded card board protects a folded broadside (17.5"x11.25") with an illustration and the chronology of the Gietz Hand-fed Press, for the New Laboratory Press. One of 150 copies printed on the Gietz in 1994. -- Plus we add the P. Garnett Book "What is it An Aestetical Investigation" Students' Project from the Laboratory Press, Specimen No. 14, 1931, 21 pages + colophon.
