Hardcover. Second printing. Very near fine in green cloth covered boards with gilt text on the spine and a facsimile signature of the author on the front board. A small quarto of 10 7/8 by 8 3/8 inches with a tiny bit of rubbing to the cloth at the upper fore corner and the lower fore corner of the spine. In a very good+ unclipped (no price) dust jacket with a 1/4 inch deep chip from the upper edge of the spine area, rubbing and wear to the lower edge of the same and several small chips from the edges of the rear panel. 296 including and index and text. Illustrated throughout with line drawings and over 370 black and white images from photographs and two pages of images from color photographs. A clean and handsome copy with no prior ownership marks of any kind.

First edition, the DeLuxe issue, 1/128 copies (this #125) with a small pencil sketch of a plane by the illustrator, signed by him. 4to. xix, 296 pp. Illustrated from photographs and line drawings, plates, some in color, mounted color frontispiece portrait of the author, small piece of a bamboo Garrison fly-rod in leather case attached to slipcase. Inscribed in 1980 by Hoagy Carmichael to a student of his, the bamboo rodmaker Peter Phelps, on the half-title, below Seaman's drawing. Slipcase somewhat rubbed, else a fine copy. Publisher's brown morocco, gilt, thin gilt rules framing the boards, gilt spine title and devices between raised bands, green silk endpapers, all edges gilt, publisher's glassine dust jacket (tired, eroding along front joint) and half-leather and marbled board clamshell box, gilt title on spine.
