I don't see any soiling. The brown design on the front and the lettering on the spine is nicely bright. There's just the usual crinkling at the spine ends, no tears. There is a tiny crease above the front bottom corner. The cover edges are in excellent shape, no rubbing. The page edges look very good, the middle one is deckled or rough-cut. They did a very good job. The book is very solidly bound from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. The interior of the book is in excellent condition. Scrolling through the pages, I haven't found any instances of soiling. I'm not seeing any conspicuous creasing, no placeholder creases, no turned-down corners. There are no markings in the book. No attachments of any kind. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere. You can see the dust jacket in the first few photos. I have always had it in a fitted protective cover. I'm not seeing any conspicuous soiling. There is little bit of scuffing at the top and bottom edges of the spine, also a couple of teeny tiny losses. There is a thin scratch off the front top edge. The flaps are in very nice condition, very clean, no tears. The jacket is NOT price-clipped, not clipped at all. From the dust jacket: 'This unusual and absorbing tale, with a dramatic final outcome, gives good Americana, and a narrative most boys will find engrossing.' Maybe also girls.
