Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Fine. Fifteenth Printing. Mylar-wrapped dust jacket; not price-clipped; white lettering and color photograph of an arrangement of Nash Buckingham's hunting possessions, including a magnum duck gun, shooting hat, gloves and duck call, duck decoy, and more; dust jacket in fine condition; signed and inscribed by editor George Bird Evans on half-title page: "For Charles Johnston - with the hope that you will feel the touch of hand from Nash Buckingham to me to you. George Bird Evans, Old Hemlock, November 1983"; one caption below a B&W photograph of Nash Buckingham with a Burt Becker magnum gun and a dog has been partially crossed out in black ink, but the text is still visible beneath; presumably this was done by the editor, Evans, as the ink appears to be crossing out a possibly incorrect dog name; else interior book clean and like new; tight binding; numerous B&W photographs printed in between pgs. 20 and 21. George Bird Evans (1906 - 1998) was an American author, artist, dog breeder, and sportsman, recognized widely as one of the world's leading authorities on upland gunning and bird dogs. Nash Buckingham (1880 - 1971) was an American sportsman, prolific writer, and outspoken conservationist, widely renowned and beloved as an outdoor writer during his time. Evans - with whom Buckingham was friends - selected, annotated, and edited some of Buckingham's best writing, creating The Best of Nash Buckingham. ; B & W Photographs; Small 4to 9" - 11" tall; 320 pp.
