Publisher's e…rratum slip laid-in at front endpapers along a xeroxed sheet mostly restating the dj front flap's text enclosed within a University of Alabama Press envelope marked "campus mail" and addressed to editor-author Charles G. Summersell (so as it was the author's envelope perhaps some possibility that this was author's copy too? - book was acquired from a Tuscaloosa, Alabama estate with no further provenance known). Paper clip impressions to at margins of several interior leaves; occasional pencil notes and margin marks amongst most text save for frequent markings within the Bibliography. Overall, a solid, Very Good copy in a Near Very Good, unclipped dust jacket, which has chipped bumps to the spine ends and cover corners, light wear to the edges with creasing and a few short tears to the upper edges, slight sunning to the spine, and rubbing to the covers. The jacket is wrapped in Mylar.

Fullam was a boarding officer on the Alabama, with responsibility for inspecting… and evaluating prize cargoes, arranging the transfer of valuables and crewmen, and burning the captured merchantmen and their often precious stores. His journal conveys concerns and a point of view somewhat different from that of a ship's commander or other line officer. Dr. Charles G.
