Die Untersuchungen haben gezeigt, dass es keine bessere geographische Quelle der Antike gibt, die eine einheitliche Methode der Distanzmessung und eine systematische Behandlung der Ortschaften einer Provinz dokumentiert. Mit den hier vorgelegten Ergebnissen werden neue Einsichten in die Topologie des Strassennetzes, genaue Lokalisierungen der genannten Ortschaften und Thesen über den Hintergrund der Auflistung des Stadiasmos präsentiert.
