"Sehr gerne bekräftige ich Ihnen" - als Erwiderung auf den hier beiliegenden Brief Schwers - "daß die Annahme der Komödie 'Der alte Burgunder' ohne den geringsten Einfluß von Ihrer Seite erfolgte und daß Sie von dieser Annahme erst erfahren haben, als die Nachricht sämtlichen Wiener Zeitungen zuging [.]". - Der in Bleistift verfaßte Briefentwurf Gettkes (verfaßt auf Briefpapier mit gedr. Briefkopf "Redacteur | H. A. Schwer | ('Deutsches Volksblatt')") an namentlich nicht genannte "Herren": "Die in Ihrem gesch. Blatte veröffentlichten, das Raimundtheater betreffenden Artikel weisen wiederholt darauf hin, daß ich mich über die Wiener Presse in einer Weise geäußert hätte, welche einer Geringschätzung derselben meinerseits involviren würde [.]". - Nach abgeschlossener kaufmännischer Ausbildung sich dem Theater zuwendend, war Gettke Schauspieler und Regisseur am Hoftheater in Kassel, Oberregisseur und Direktor der vereinigten Theater in Leipzig, Direktor der vereinigten Stadttheater in Elberfeld und hatte von 1897-1907 die Leitung des Raimundtheaters in Wien inne. Als Autor wurde der Mitherausgeber des Deutschen Theater-Lexikons (1889) und Mitbegründer der Deutschen Bühnengenossenschaft mit einer Reihe von Schwänken und Possen bekannt, darunter das Lustspiel 'Goldregen' (1899). - Der Br. v. 10. X. 1896 auf Briefpapier mit gedr. Briefkopf des "Raimund-Theaters" und gedr. Vignette. - In altem Sammlungsumschlag.

Mitarbeiter anderer Autoren in Wien. Nachdem er als Spielleiter und Dramaturg in Berlin, Köln und Düsseldorf gewirkt hatte, übernahm O. 1893 die Leitung des neuen Landestheaters in Laibach .
