Despite the relatively poor condition of this weekly, it is a very valuable document regarding the development of the early Flemish Movement and the support of the Meeting Party in Antwerp. It was an Antwerp, liberal, free-thinking, predominantly Flemish weekly (1865-1867). This political journal supported the Meeting Party and could count on the cooperation of: - Lucien Jottrand - Edward Coremans - Julius de Geyter - Lodewijk Gerrits - F. Caris. The Flemish grievances were central. Besides the Meeting demands, such as the demolition of fortifications and universal suffrage for municipal and provincial administration pending a constitutional revision, the journal also demanded decentralization, expansion of primary education, freedom of the press, and separation of Church and State.
