This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Interferential therapy is the transcutaneous application of alternating medium frequency electrical currents, amplitude modulated at low frequency for therapeutic procedures. It is an electrotherapeutic modality implemented to attain various therapeutic benefits for instance: drug delivery, pain reduction etc. The high frequency modality operates by interfering two low frequency currents and producing a medium frequency current that mimics the physiological effects of the low frequency currents but is not at all discomfort able than its counterpart. The main objective of this review manuscript is to present an overview of various application procedures of the Interferential therapy and to determine its physiological effects upon the soft tissues i.e. muscles, fascia etc. so as to determine its efficacy for rehabilitation in sports and musculoskeletal disorders. The following study is designated as a literature review of relevant text and studies published. The review study also explains the various types of applicable electrodes employed to deliver the necessary treatment, various treatment precautions and contraindications have also been briefly explained. 52 pp. Englisch.

This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation is a common practice implemented to enhance the range of motion throughout the neurological and musculoskeletal aspect of the body, though little research has been performed to evaluate theories behind it. The aim of this manuscript is to evaluate possible mechanisms, proposed theories, physiological effects and techniques that fall within its scope. The manuscript incorporates various maneuvers implemented within this technique that aim to imitate the effects of facilitation in order to increase the response of neuromuscular mechanism, various types of facilitation techniques that are also implemented in addition to the neuromuscular facilitation techniques are for instance; visual cue, maximal resistance, stimulation by stretch reflex, manual contact and verbal instructions. It could also be successfully deployed for developing normal range of movement in the affected affected musculoskeletal tissues. A detailed diagrammatic representations of patterns performed in the proprioceptive training depicts the relevance of Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, with potential benefits, only when if performed correctly and systematically. 52 pp. Englisch.

This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Physical therapists and physicians often treat patients with locally musculoskeletal inflammation using topically applied steroids and Non Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs and use of ultrasound, there is a paucity of research confirming that Phonophoresis significantly enhances drug diffusion. The purpose of this study was to determine if ultrasound enhances the diffusion of transdermal applied NSAID's. This study aims to study the effectiveness of Diclofenac vi's-à-vis Piroxicam gels, applied transdermal using phonophoresis technique, in treating delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) induced following single bout high intensity eccentric exercise in elbow flexors. Forty subjects, all male volunteers, in the age-group of 20-30 years, with no known drug allergies nor under current any medication, were randomly selected. Each subject performed similarly, intense eccentric exercise of the left elbow flexors to elicit DOMS. Phonophoresis was applied, using Diclofenac gel & Piroxicam gel. It has been concluded that the following a single bout of intense eccentric exercise, transdermal application of Diclofenac has been found to be more effective. 60 pp. Englisch.
