Hardcover. Condizione: Very good. First edition, Eleventh printing. Georgy Kepes' seminal book on the psychology of art and design, with introductory essays by S. Giedion and S.I. Hayakawa. Used as a textbook since its publication in 1944. This is the 11th printing, from 1964. No dust jacket. Binding is in black cloth with stamped silver title and author on the front and spine. Remarkably little wear on the binding, though there is slight soiling and fading on the front cover and two light scratches on the back cover. A previous owner's name is written in blue ink at the top left of the inside front coverotherwise no writing or other marks, or tears or creases appear on any part of the interior. The pages do show some age tanning, which is more pronounced on the edges of the page block, particularly the fore edge. There is a small but noticeable spot of soiling right at the bottom corner of the textblock. The binding is still tight and square.
