Prima edizione Copia autografata
Hardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Near Fine. 1st Edition, Special Edition. Produced and printed in Israel by United Artists Ltd., Tel-Aviv. Large-format clothbound art monograph in original illustrated dust jacket. De Luxe Edition containing one original lithograph signed by the artist. This copy retains the original fold-out signed lithograph by Moshe Gat. Extensively illustrated throughout with full-page color and monochrome reproductions documenting the artist's work inspired by Israel, Mexico, Portugal, and Spain. A visually striking and substantial late-1960s art monograph devoted to Israeli painter and printmaker Moshe Gat (1935-1993), whose emotionally expressive figurative style blended social realism with modernist abstraction. The volume traces Gat's growing international reputation through exhibitions in Tel Aviv, Mexico City, New York, and Europe, while showcasing powerful depictions of fishermen, laborers, children, horsemen, and Mediterranean street life. Particularly notable are the dramatic monochrome brush drawings and richly reproduced color plates. The original signed lithograph, issued exclusively with the deluxe edition, makes this a significantly more desirable and collectible issue than the standard trade version. Condition: Near Fine in Near Fine dust jacket. Cream cloth boards clean and well preserved with only mild shelf wear and faint age toning at extremities. Binding square and solid. Interior bright and remarkably clean with no ownership marks observed. Original signed fold-out lithograph present. Dust jacket remains crisp and attractive with light rubbing and a few minor edge creases; no major chips or losses. An exceptionally well-preserved example of a scarce deluxe signed issue. Moshe Gat was an Israeli painter, draftsman, and printmaker educated at the Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem. Emerging in the 1950s and 1960s, he developed an expressive figurative style influenced by Mediterranean culture, Mexican social realism, and modernist brushwork. Gat exhibited internationally in Israel, Europe, Mexico, and the United States, earning recognition for emotionally charged portrayals of working people and everyday life. His signed deluxe monographs and original graphics remain desirable among collectors of Israeli modernism and postwar figurative art. Signed by Illustrator(s).
