The Author of this Translation was Mr John Keigwin of Mousehole. Parallel Text in Cornish and English. Introduction, followed by a Memoir of Mr John Keigwin. Then "Extracts from Mr W. Scawen…'s "Observations.with an account of the Language, Manners and Customs of the Cornish People." These Preliminaries occupy xix Pages. Next is the Poem "Mount Calvary" in Cornish and English (91 Pages). Following this comes a Protestation to the Pope's Legate, A.D. 600; The First Chapter of Genesis in Cornish; Extracts from Benedictus Abbas relating to St. Petroc; Extracts from Symmachus and Carew of Cornwall, containing his Prosopopoeia on Archery. 98 Pages + the Preliminary Pages in Total. 9 1/4" Tall, 250g. Brown paper-covered Boards with hand written title on spine. Page edges untrimmed. Edge wear and chipping to paper on boards. Attractive illustrated Bookplate on Endpaper. Penciled name "J. Cornish" and penciled ref. above. no other inscriptions. Hinges sound and Text Block firm. A few small spots of light foxing on title page. Only a very occasional spot elsewhere. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
