A wonderful confluence of two great and legendary artists of the late twentieth century. Vintage "Dick Gregory On Poppy" record store poster, designed by acclaimed graphic designer Milton Glaser, for Gregory's 1969 political stand-up comedy album "The Light Side: The Dark Side," released on the Poppy record label. Found in the collections of the National Portrait Gallery and the Museum of Modern Art. Glazer's design, a play off of Gregory's album title "The Light Side: The Dark Side," features a beautiful illustration of Gregory vertically divided into a dark and light side, with the dark side dominating, just ever so much. A fitting and beautifully executed representation of the civil rights activist in 1969. A wonderful confluence of two great and legendary artists of the late twentieth century. 24 x 35.75 inches.
