The Complete Stories brings together all of Kafka's stories, from the classic tales such as 'The Metamorphosis,' 'In the Penal Colony,' and 'A Hunger Artist' to shorter pieces and fragments that Max Brod, Kafka's literary executor, released after Kafka's death' with the exception of his three novels, the whole of Kafka's narrative work is included in this volume.…

Aggiungi al carrelloHardcover. Condizione: Very Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very Good. 2nd Edition. Printed in Great Britain. [Date from the copyright page.] First Printing with the New Foreword by Nahum N. Glatzer. Author's Preface, Introduction, Footnotes, Biographical Appendix; xxii, 165 pages. The original blue-green cloth is in excellent shape, with corners sharp and gilt lettering as bright as if just issued on the barely-bumped spine. The interior is crisp and creamy-bright; however, NOTE that my philosopher-father who founded, then chaired for eighteen years, the Seminars in World Religion at Columbia University, left pencil markings in the introduction, and on about a dozen pages in the rest of the text. The original sturdy printed dust jacket has one drop of coffee, front and center, with light sunning to the spine overlapping a bit onto the rear panel; the flap is unclipped and price (£2.50) still present. [Please see my 8 images of the actual book.] Gleaned from the flap: "The present volume grew out of a series of lectures delivered by Buber in Jerusalem in 1944. § His lecture-essays demonstrate the depths of his faith in Zion [which he] illustrates by analyzing the centrality of Zion to biblical and talmudic thought, how it inspired medieval thinkers and mystics, and how it moved modern Jews from Moses Hess to Rav Kook and A. D. Gordon." As with every book from my father's collection, tipped-in at the front is the small, attractive, acid-free bookplate pictured on my homepage. All books are wrapped with special care and are shipped promptly with tracking; international sales sent via global priority, also with tracking.…
