Uno es su transculturación, ya que escribe en Estados Unidos, más precisamente en Nueva York, pero esa distancia física es una modalidad estilística y, por paradoja…l que parezca, una forma de intimidad diferente con su propio país de origen. Por lo tanto lo que podría ser un obstáculo se transforma en la autora en un recurso extraordinario de abordaje que le da una unicidad a toda su obra y que genera un lenguaje de una personalidad arrolladora. El otro presupuesto es su condición judía, lo que también significa un aporte sustancial a su dramaturgia y colabora creando esta intercodificación que da jerarquía e internacionalidad a sus textos. Una Tal Raquel tiene un memorable fragmento que ilustra lo que afirmo: "Como pueden ver por el título de la charla de hoy me referiré a un capítulo siniestro en la historia judía: la trata de blancas de principio de siglo que tuvo lugar entre el Viejo Mundo y el Nuevo". Es evidente que la autora no le teme a sus fantasmas, no tiene miedo de enfrentar lo que le duele, no intenta un discurso pro-judío a ultranza, su profunda convicción ética la lleva a indagar, antes que nada, en su propio territorio de pertenencia, porque entiende al teatro como una tragedia de desgarramiento personal y porque asume la valentía de la autocrítica como parte de un desafío vital de transparencia sin la cual es insostenible su propia mirada de escritora.
